APPS1: Inaugural Asia and the Pacific Policy Society Annual Conference

Date: 06 November 2012 — 07 November 2012
Venue: Crawford School of Public Policy, The Australian National University

The Asia and the Pacific Policy Society conference aims to encourage intellectual growth and engagement in policy studies in the Asia and the Pacific region by bringing together the world’s leading scholars from a broad range of research fields for three days of analysis, ideas and solutions to highlight some of the region’s most pressing policy challenges.

Over 35 internationally renowned scholars and practitioners will share research and insights in a program of public roundtables on critical issues including energy security, climate change, ecological economics, food security, cyber security, trade, governance, public administration, macroeconomics, education, development and health.

The conference is held annually by the Asia and the Pacific Society - the first international association of its kind to link groups working across disciplines on the key economic, political science, governance, development and environmental issues in the Asia and the Pacific region.

The Society aims to provide a platform to widen the disciplinary base for Crawford School’s new flagship publication, Asia and the Pacific Policy Studies (APPS), a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary journal. Based on the belief that the more multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research is, the higher its likely influence on the policy world, the Journal’s mission is to break down barriers across disciplines and so generate policy impact by soliciting the support and engagement of scholars and practitioners from diverse backgrounds and interests.

Crawford School is proud to be a partner with AusAID on this conference and gratefully acknowledges their generous support.
